Bethany Beach Craft Fair

On November 10th and 11th I had the opportunity to participate in the Bethany Beach/St Anne’s craft fair to sell copies of Capitol Gains.

It was a delightful weekend.   I was able to connect with potential readers and was able to talk about the novel.  Frankly I think many were surprised to see a book seller there among the usual booths of earrings, photographs and ceramics.  Fortunately I was able to assure them that the perfect gift for their mothers/fathers/children/ business partners was not another set of earrings or bird photos but a nationally recognized novel.  Some even believed me.  Sales were off the charts.

I was able to truthfully report that a key scene in Capitol Gains takes place on the Bethany Beach boardwalk, giving the book a local flavor.  I less truthfully reported that with one more book sale I would be on the New York Times best seller list.  Actually, no one believed that.  Maybe next year.

One of the most fun things about publishing a book is talking to the reading public.  Their interest and enthusiasm is infectious.  So if you see me at your local craft fair, bookstore, grocery store, or farmers’ market, come by to say hello and buy a copy of Capitol Gains.
